Shakespeare in the Park is coming to Franklin this weekend! The Nashville Shakespeare Festival's first ever performance of Shakespeare in Academy Park in Franklin starts this Thursday, Sept. 29.

The four-night run of the inaugural festival featuring Comedy of Errors will take place at Academy Park, formerly the campus of BGA. The performance is a unique take on Shakespeare's zaniest play, The Comedy of Errors, directed by Denice Hicks, executive artistic director of the Nashville Shakespeare Festival. The show features original music by David Olney, Lari White, Stan Lawrence and Jack Kingsley. General admission is open to the public, with a $10 per person donation suggested. LimiTEd Royal Package seating still available for those seeking the ultimate VIP experience! The $60 Royal Package includes reserved parking, prime seating, a boxed Puckett's dinner, a shout out from the stage and a personal welcome from the stage. Royal Packages must be purchased in advance, and online sales will end at noon on the day of the performance.

BGA will be performing a pre-show teaser from their upcoming show "Cash on Delivery!"

Pre-show entertainment begins at 6 p.m. with Talking Shakespearse, a lively discussion with Shakespeare scholars, with the featured performance at 7:30 p.m. Food trucks and bleacher seating is available, and guests are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnics to the park as well.
