Roanoke, Virginia's Eternal Summers - Nicole Yun, Daniel Cundiff, Jonathan Woods - are excited to announce a spring tour in support of The Drop Beneath, their brand new full-length studio album due out on March 4th, 2014 via Kanine Records. Eternal Summers will be joined by Wichita Recording Artist Cheatahs for the first few dates, including the tour opener and record release party at Rough Trade NYC. Soon after, Eternal Summers will join The Pains of Being Pure At Heart for a series of dates heading down the East Coast and then South West for this year's SXSW Festival.

The Drop Beneath was produced by Doug Gillard of Guided by Voices and Nada Surf and recorded, engineered and mixed by Louie Lino (also of Nada Surf) at Resonate Studios in Austin, TX. Kanine already released the lead single "Gouge" which premiered on Pitchfork January 13th and had the site commenting that the new album has the band, "taking a darker, slightly shoegazier turn." The premiere was picked up by a number of noteworthy outlets, including Stereogum who called it a "surprisingly pretty piece of music with a crisp guitar line to cut through the haze" and Death & Taxes were also floored by the new material, commenting that "Gouge" is "a pleasant, even soothing, indie rock track with some new wave leanings (maybe along the lines of DIIV with a little less reverb)."

The Drop Beneath continues along the path of the band's previous album Correct Behavior, with an even more expanded sound. Look for the new album on March 4th, 2014 on Kanine Records and be sure to catch Eternal Summers on the road this spring and at SXSW.
