IN THE HEIGHTS star and Tony Award winner Priscilla Lopez and Academy Award winner Olympia Dukakis will host AN INTIMATE THEATER EVENING, the 14th annual benefit for the A-T Children's Project which will be held at The Clark Studio Theatre at Lincoln Center (in the Samuel B. and David Rose Building, Seventh Floor, 70 Lincoln Plaza) on Monday, January 19th, 2009 at 8pm. Scheduled to perform are IN THE HEIGHTS star Mandy Gonzalez, comedian David Birnbaum, Ron De Jesus Dance, singer/actors Leo Ash Evens, Mark Fisher and Devin Ilaw, and trombonist Todd Londagin and his band.

The event will raise money for the A-T Children's Project, a non-profit organization formed to raise funds through events and contributions from corporations, foundations and friends. Brad and Vicki Margus founded the A-T Children's Project after two of their sons were diagnosed with ataxia-telangiectasia in 1993. Ataxia-telangiectasia, or "A-T," is a progressive, degenerative disease that affects a startling variety of body systems. Children with A-T appear normal at birth, and the first signs of the disease usually appear during the second year of life. Children who are lucky enough to not develop cancer are typically dependent on wheelchairs by the age of ten due to lack of muscle control in the body. There is no cure for A-T and no way to slow the progression of the disease. A-T Children's Project's goal is to find a cure for the disease.

Tickets range from $100 to $200 and can be purchased at www.atcp.org.
