59E59 Theaters will present Silverland, written by Benjamin Davis and directed by Di Trevis, who made history as the first female company director of the Royal National Theatre.

The play begins previews on Tuesday, May 15 for a limited engagement through Sunday, June 3. Opening Night is Sunday, May 20 at 7:15 PM.

"Benjamin Davis's ambitious debut play, which enthralled audiences at London's Arcola Theatre, makes is NY debut at Brits Off Broadway. This vitally important drama is set in Britain one year before the 2012 Olympic Games arrive and one year before the Kyoto Protocal is set to expire, at a time when global warming has left Britain in near- ruin.  With resources running dangerously low and a volatile and exaggerated climate teetering on the brink of chaos, six characters  search for companionship in the face of inevitable change. Three stories unfold over five seasons, portraying a netherworld of wastelands, raves and dreamscapes where timelines are skewed and realities split in half.  Silverland is an engrossing eco-fantasia directed by Di Trevis, leading a young, vibrant cast," state press materials.

Davis is a member of the Royal Court Young Writer's Programme and teaches the New Writer's Programme at the Arcola Theatre. Silverland is his debut play.

The cast features Cary Crankson, Sophie Hunter, Tom McClane, Tim Steed, Bradley Taylor and Ony Uhiara.  The set is designed by Mark Friend and the lighting designed by Mark Doubleday. Jane Gibson is Movement Director.

The performance schedule is Tuesday – Friday at 8:15 PM; Saturday at 2:15 PM and 8:15 PM; Sunday at 3:15 PM and 7:15 PM.
