The Chicago Academy for the Arts has announced the highly anticipated A Taste for the Arts Gala will return to the Harris Theater and Millennium Park Terrace Tuesday, May 13, 2014. This exceptional evening, hosted by Donna LaPietra and Bill Kurtis, will feature a performance by the emerging artists of The Academy alongside the dazzling cuisine of some of Chicago's hottest chefs including lead chef Curtis Duffy (Grace), Rick Bayless (Frontera Grill/Topolobampo/XOCO) and Tony Priolo (Piccolo Sogno/Piccolo Sogno Due).

In addition to hosts Donna LaPietra and Bill Kurtis, A Taste for the Arts Gala is chaired by Dianne and John Kleber and Lisa and Joe Torres. Wirtz Beverage of Illinois will serve as the exclusive Beverage Sponsor and Barbara Levy Kipper will once again serve as The Academy's Performance Sponsor.

Guests will be treated to a performance at the Harris Theater at 6 p.m. and will proceed to the Millennium Park Terrace at 7:30 p.m. for silent and live auctions, tastings from 10 chefs, signature cocktails from popular Chicago mixologists, mingling and music by The Academy's Jazz Ensemble throughout the evening. Guests also have the option to upgrade their tables to include table service provided by butlers from Jewell Events Catering.

Individual gala tickets start at $350, with reserved tables starting at $5,000. Gala Performance-only tickets are available for $30 to $75 each. Visit atasteforthearts.org to reserve event tickets or visit harristheaterchicago.org for performance-only tickets. For more information on tickets or sponsorship opportunities, contact specialevents@chicagoartsacademy.org.

A Taste for the Arts is The Academy's primary fundraising event, and provides critical support for the ongoing success of the school - Chicagoland's conservatory prep school and one of only four independent arts high schools in the United States. Funds raised through the event will support The Academy's groundbreaking programs, international partnerships and scholarships, ensuring The Academy's place as a leader and model for excellence in arts education.
