BroadwayWorld Seeking Fall Interns by Robert Diamond - August 30, 2010
BroadwayWorld.com is now accepting applications for fall internship positions. Applicants should be industry enthusiasts and have an interest in learning about news editing, photo editing and website content management. Excellent writing skills, computer literacy, an ability to mutitask, and weekday availability are a must. Knowledge of Photoshop a plus. Internship positions are available in 3 areas: domestic news editing, international news editing, and photo editing. Responsibilities in each area include assisting with the overwriting/editing of press releases, researching news tips on the internet, drafting original stories, treating photos for photo columns, and assisting with the launch of new site features. The position offers flexible hours and the opportunity to work remotely. **Access to New York City is NOT essential for the internship and applicants both in and outside of New York City are encouraged to apply. Interns have the opportunity to be on the front lines of theater goings-on in 100 U.S. cities and 30 countries worldwide and will leave the post with a comprehensive education in "how the business works." Students are encouraged to apply and college credit is available. There are no administrative duties (filing/faxing/coffee-grabbing etc.) associated with the positions.
