On Monday, October 5, Broadway's Tony Award-winning hit musical CHICAGO welcomed back Broadway favorite Brent Barrett as Billy Flynn.  Barrett had been scheduled to resurrect his performance for an eight-week return engagement through Sunday, November 29.  Barrett's participation will now be extended through March 27, 2010.

In CHICAGO, Barrett is joined by Bonnie Langford as Roxie Hart, Deidre Goodwin as Velma Kelly, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and Kecia Lewis-Evans as Matron "Mama" Morton.

Brent Barrett is no stranger to the stages of Broadway, the West End, concert halls, recording studios and television. Most recently, he starred as the Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom - The Las Vegas Spectacular at The Venetian Hotel and Casino.

He received an Olivier Award nomination for his starring role in the London premiere of the Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of Kiss Me, Kate. His acclaimed performance was recorded for broadcast on PBS and is available on DVD.  He also starred in the City Center Encores! production of The Pajama Game and as King Arthur in the Paper Mill Playhouse production of Camelot.

In addition to CHICAGO's Billy Flynn, his other Broadway roles include Frank Butler in the Broadway revival of Irving Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun at the Marquis Theatre opposite Reba McEntire, Charles Castleton in the Alan Jay Lerner musical Dance a Little Closer, Baron Felix Von Gaigern in Grand Hotel and Maximillon in the revival of Candide. His Off-Broadway credits include Closer Than Ever, March of the Falsettos, The Death of Von Richtofen, The Time Of Cuckoo and a musical version of Portrait of Jenny.

Brent has received critical acclaim when he performed as a soloist with the Boston Pops, Minnesota Opera, Opera Pacific, Michigan Opera, Kentucky Opera, with the New York Festival of Song at Carnegie Hall, with the London Sinfonetta at Royal FestivAl Hall and with the Birmingham Symphony.

His film and television credits include The Producers, Hercules, Longtime Companion, "All My Children," "Another World" and "Guiding Light."

Brent has recorded two solo albums: The Alan Jay Lerner Album on Fynsworth Alley Records and The Kander and Ebb Album on on Varese Sarabande Records. He released his third solo recording, a Christmas CD titled Christmas Mornings, produced by Bruce Kimmel on Kritzerland Records, this November.  It is now available for download on iTunes and at CDbaby.com With arrangements and musical director by Christopher Denny, Christmas Mornings features a collection of holiday standards plus two new Christmas songs, including "A Star To Guide Me" written by Barrett himself.

In celebration of the album release, Barrett will perform two solo holiday concerts at Birdland Jazz Club in midtown Manhattan on Sunday, December 13 at 6 p.m. and Monday, December 14 at 7 p.m. With musical direction by Christopher Denny, tickets for the Birdland concerts are $30-$40 each (plus a $10 food/drink minimum) and are available by calling 212-581-3080 or by visiting www.BirdlandJazz.com.

Now celebrating more than twelve glorious years of girls, glitz and glamour on the Great White Way, the record-breaking smash hit musical CHICAGO is now the seventh longest-running production in Broadway history. CHICAGO plays on Broadway at the Ambassador Theatre with the regular performance schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings at 8p.m.; Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.; Sundays at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Tickets are available by calling Telecharge.com at 212-239-6200. Tickets may also be purchased in-person at the Ambassador Theatre Box Office. Regular Box Office hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and Noon to 7 p.m. Sunday.

CHICAGO features a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, and is the winner of six 1997 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Cast Recording.  Set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the 1920s, CHICAGO is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today's tabloids.  Directed by Walter Bobbie and choreographed by Ann Reinking, CHICAGO features set design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Ken Billington and sound design by Scott Lehrer. Produced by Barry and Fran Weissler, CHICAGO has become a worldwide phenomenon with productions in 24 countries and 11 languages since 1996.
The record-breaking London production of CHICAGO continues to hold the record as the longest-running American musical in West End history. CHICAGO is also on tour throughout the U.S. and Canada, as well as international tours in Australia and the United Kingdom.
