Fox Valley Rep, in residence at Pheasant Run Resort, announces their calendar-year 2014 season of nostalgic memoirs and memorable musicals, including the international musical hit, Nunsense, the coming-of-age comedy and memoir, Cheaper by the Dozen, followed by the story of the real Andrews Sisters, Sisters of Swing, then to Neil Simon's heart-warming memoir, Brighton Beach Memoirs, concluding with the holiday music revue, Christmas on Broadway.

"We have an engaging theater season planned, and we are very excited to give our award-winning academy students a chance to shine in two of our productions this year," says Artistic Director John Gawlik. "The Fox Valley area will be amazed by the emerging talent from our year-round educational programs, and we're looking forward to featuring them in Cheaper by the Dozen and Brighton Beach Memoirs."

Gawlik has programmed an exciting season that upholds the FVR tradition of sharing an engaging theater experience that make you laugh, reflect and reconnect to moments in your life.

"To celebrate our fourth season as Fox Valley Rep, we are continuing to offer some of the best subscription rates and benefits in the area," says Gawlik. "Our 5-show packages are heavily discounted so that no theater ticket is more than $20. Our number of subscribers has grown to a record amount, and we hope this continues."

Thursdays, March 27 & April 3, 8pm; April 17, 24 & May 1, 15, 2pm

As the father of twelve, Frank Gilbreth used to joke: "You know, they come cheaper by the dozen!" One of the best-loved American memoirs captures the trials, tribulations and sheer amusement recounted by the children of efficiency experts Frank and Lillian Gilbreth during the 1920's. You'll laugh the night away with this humor-filled look into the life of a family who often served as the subjects of their fathers' motion studies. The results are terribly embarrassing, funny and - extremely effective! It is a coming-of-age story about rebellion and reconciliation, love and laughter, selfishness and sacrifice that has delighted audiences all over the world. Rating: PG

Join them on their journey from the early days on the road, through their rise as recording stars, to entertaining American GI's overseas, and finally dissembling over differences. With over 20 hit songs like "Bei Mir Bist Du Schon," "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree" and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," this unique perspective reveals how the events of their lives shaped who they became to the rest of the world. BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS
A Heart-Warming Comedy
By Neil Simon

Thursdays, August 28 & September 4, 8pm; September 18, 25 & October 2, 16, 2pm
PRESS OPENING: September 6 @ 8pm

Based on Neil Simon's memoirs of growing up in Brooklyn, this coming-of-age comedy recounts life in 1937 through the eyes of a young teenage boy. Eugene Jerome, dreaming of baseball and girls, must cope with the mundane existence of his cramped, Jewish-American family life: an over-worked father, under-appreciated mother, and his worldly older brother Stanley. Throw into the mix his asthmatic Aunt Blanche, her two pampered daughters and Grandpa the Socialist, and you have a recipe for true hilarity. This bittersweet memoir is an affectionate, entertaining lesson in overcoming hard times with warmth and humor. Rating: PG13
