Andy Mientus Joins Second Season of SMASH as Series Regular!

According to TVLine.com, stage veteran Andy Mientus will join NEWSIES' Jeremy Jordan as a new series regular for the second season of SMASH. He'll play 'Kyle,' "a poor kid from Brooklyn with dreams of writing for Broadway."

Mientus' theatre credits include: 'Hanschen' in the national tour of SPRING AWAKENING, MCC's recent revival of CARRIE, and SHINE! at NYMF. Mientus has additionally participated in previous industry readings for BARE. 

SMASH is a musical drama that celebrates the beauty and heartbreak of the Broadway theater as it follows a cross section of dreamers and schemers who all have one common desire - to be a "Smash." Evolving from an idea of executive producer and multiple Emmy and Oscar winner Steven Spielberg and executive-produced by Joshua Safran, Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey, Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, Marc ShaimanScott Wittman, and Theresa Rebeck. "Smash" is a production of Universal Television in association with DreamWorks Television and Madwoman in the Attic.
