New York--Adam Jacobs, Don Darryl Rivera, and Joshua Dela Cruz, current cast members of the Broadway smash musical Disney's ALADDIN, are joining the cast of Broadway Barkada's tribute concert to Tony Award-winning songwriting team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty titled "Make Them Hear You: The Songs of Ahrens & Flaherty" on Sunday, July 24, 7 p.m. at the Cutting Room (44 East 32nd St., between Park and Madison).

Co-founded by Liz Casasola, Billy Bustamante, and Brian Jose, Broadway Barkada [barkada means "a group of close friends" in Filipino], is a collective of professional musical theater artists that provide a sense of community among Filipino artists.

"There are themes of heritage, strength, sacrifice, family, and love in Lynn and Stephen's shows. They speak not only to us as performers, but also as Filipinos," says the group's spokesperson Brian Jose in a statement. "The sacrifices our parents made to come to this country; the faith and endurance our fellow Filipinos show during the many devastating hurricanes, and the deep sense of family that's inherent within our Filipino theatrical community, they are all represented in Lynn and Stephen's shows.

"The heart of the Filipino [artist] can be found in their beautiful music, and we're excited to explore it with Lynn and Stephen's blessing."

Ahrens and Flaherty's prolific theater credits include the Tony Award-winning musical "Ragtime," the Broadway-bound musical "Anastasia," "Seussical," "Once On This Island," "My Favorite Year," "A Man of No Importance," "The Dancer's Life," "Dessa Rose," "Lucky Stiff," "The Glorious Ones," "Rocky," and "Little Dancer."

Directed by Broadway Barkada co-founder Billy Bustamante, featuring the musical direction and arrangements by Steven Cuevas, "Make Them Hear You: The Songs of Ahrens & Flaherty" will also star Alan Ariano, Emily Borromeo, Liz Casasola, Chris Ignacio, Brian Jose, and Gillian Munsayac, together with Belinda Allyn, Kathrina Feigh, Joanne Javien, Loresa Lanceta, Adrienne Tang, and Isabelle Van Vleet.

In addition, expect a special reunion number by the original cast of Off Broadway's "Imelda, A New Musical."
