This terrifying horror thriller follows two best friends who set out on the trip of a lifetime around the world. Their journey, documented every step of the way, soon takes a twisted and unexpected turn after an encounter with a beautiful woman in Paris leaves one of them mysteriously afflicted. Says HHFFestival Director Miles Flanagan, "This dark homage to one of the great horror-comedies of all time - and we'll leave that for you to discover - features some of the most amazing indie horror effects we've ever seen. We're so happy to be able to show this on the big screen at the inaugural Hollywood Horrorfest." Flanagan continues, "Afflicted is one of the most suspenseful and original horror debuts we've seen in a long time. You think you're going on one journey, then holy crap, it takes you somewhere totally different. It's a real audience pleaser."

Hollywood Horrorfest (March 28-29) puts a twist on the horror festival as it celebrates The Past and showcases the future of indie horror filmmaking. This year it celebrates two classic horror films, The Howling and Return of the Living Dead (ROTLD), awarding honorees Joe Dante and Dick Miller with the annual Price and Impact awards, respectively. The festival brings together the cast & crew of ROTLD for a 35mm screening and a Q&A moderated by writer/journalist Pat Jankewwicz. HHF's many FREE events include 13 world premiere shorts & features in competition and the inaugural "Panel to Die For" focusing on "How to Successfully Finance and Distribute Your Indie Film." This FREE panel features industry lawyers, sales agents, producers, & distributors - including Bianca Goodloe (attorney at Goodloe Law), Candace Leung (VP Business Affairs/Legal Counsel at Cinedigm Distributor), Erik Lundmark (CEO of LEOMARK Studios), Joseph Guzman (Producer of Nude Nuns with Big Guns) and John Knowles (Director of Chastity Bites).
