The 2017 Melbourne Cabaret Festival Fringe is back after receiving rave reviews, Green Room Award nominations and sold out houses.

The festival presents independent works of cabaret from Melbourne, and around Australia, running between 4-16 July 2017. Applications close on 14 March 2017.

The Melbourne Cabaret Festival Fringe was born in 2016 to compliment the work presented at the Melbourne Cabaret Festival in Stonnington. It is based at The Butterfly Club, in the CBD. Last year's program saw Mother's Ruin: A Cabaret About Gin nominated for a Green Room Award, and Ljubicica (Wild Violet) receive press coverage around the country, and an invitation to tour internationally. Along with a plethora of sold-out performances, the festival has clearly found an audience and the benchmark has been set.

"In programming the festival, we are seeking to support truly independent works of cabaret that deserve to be seen by a wider audience," says Xander Woollard, Artistic Director.

All productions must be no longer than 60 minutes and able to fit on a 4m x 2m stage. Expressions of interest can be lodged here and must be submitted before 5pm on the 14 March 2017.
