By Barbara Robinson, a rip-roaring Christmas comedy! The Herdmans are the worst kids in the history of the world. So no one is prepared when this outlaw family decides to take over the annual Christmas pageant. None of the Herdmans has ever heard the Christmas story before. Their wild interpretation of the tale has a lot of people up in arms. But it will make this year's pageant the most unusual anyone has seen and, just possibly, the best one ever. Have some holiday fun with the Alaska Theatre of Youth!

ATY's Main Stage Season of Shows has enjoyed the hospitality of the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts for several years producing fully-staged shows from October to May in the Sydney Laurence Theatre. It is a rare opporunity for young artists to perform in Alaska's most renowned facility that regularly hosts world-famous performers and professional Broadway companies.

Providing youth performance opportunities also allows ATY to provide youth audience opportunities! Special school-time performances are offered to the students of South-central Alaska. For more information, teachers should contact school@alaskatheatreofyouth.org.

It is important to ATY that youth are able to experience the enrichment and empowerment that comes from taking part in theatre as a performer and as an audience member. When possible, complimentary tickets have been made available to special needs non-profit and service constituencies. Groups that have received complimentary admission (or ATY toured to their facility) include McLaughlin Youth Center, Alaska Children's Services, the Jesse Lee Home, Compeer, Boys and Girls Club, Alaska Gymnastics, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, among many others.
