UATG to present Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, directed by Megan Dansie. Introducing Akkshey Caplash and Abby Hampton as 'Romeo' and 'Juliet'. The production will run at the Little Theatre, The Cloisters, University of Adelaide, Sat 3, Tues-Sat 6-10 & 13-17 May 2014 at 7.30pm.

"My only love sprung from my only hate."

Passion and the clash of swords fill the streets of Verona as the warring families of Montague and Capulet refuse to make peace, with tragic consequences for young Romeo and Juliet. The greatest love story of all time is also a tale of youthful rashness, revenge and rebellion. This production combines Renaissance Italy with Shakespeare's universal themes of love, sex, violence and death!

The Theatre Guild welcomes the return of director Megan Dansie following her award winning productions of Richard III and The Pillowman. The Little Theatre stage will come alive with colour, movement and romance with the wit, drama, and poetic beauty of Shakespeare's classic tale weaving its magic spell.

The large cast comprises Alex Antoniou, Anita Canala, Akkshey Caplash, Andre Chaney, Nicholas Clippingdale, Ronald Densley, Paul Duldig, Lindsay Dunn, Gary George, Ned Goult, Abby Hampton, Olivia Kashti, Brad Martin, Steve Marvanek, Molly McCormack, Jonathan Pheasant, Paul Rodda, Cate Rogers, Bridget Rossiter, David Sandison, Angela Short and Andrew Spencer.
