It's very, VERY scary...
I went to get tickets at the box office about an hour before the show and ended up first row!
And I loved every minute of it!
In the real world the only people who burst into song are the hopelessly deranged...

I have seen it and I can confirm that it is scary.
It is a play and not a Musical but I guess you know this.
You often get reduced Tickets on the day in Leicester Sq.

....you may even see the real ghost of the Fortune Theatre...

Enjoy!!!! re: The woman in black

I have seen this play many times. Among my favorites. It is a great theatrical experience where the audience reaction is very important.

Does this, by any chance, bear any relation to THE WOMAN IN WHITE? A parody, perhaps?

Ummm... no. The Woman In Black is a serious play, based on a Susan Hill novel, that's been running in the West End for something like 14 years. The Woman In White was a musical, based on a Wilkie Collins novel, that didn't last anywhere near as long. The Collins novel is older than the Hill novel, but the play is waaay older than the musical.

Have any of you seen the movie version? It's good but not as scary as the play even though it pretty much follows the same storyline. This play is the supreme example of the magic of live theater.

I just saw it a few days ago its fabulous :). I loved it! I've never seen anything like it so it was quite the experience. If anything its great just to see something different. However I was a little skeptical at first as well because I hadn't heard anything about it, but the acting is phenominal! I walked out of there not a BIT confused, and then I started thinking about the show and realized two guys had played every real part, there was no real set, and I was still scared! awesome.

I've heard nothing but good things about this play...I wish that I could somehow fly to London to see it. I'm really interested as the book...is it a good representation of what the play is like? I realize it was written first, but I'm just curious if it will have the same effect, even though the lighting techniques, etc won't be there.
