Whatsonstage.com has revealed that Dr Seuss' ‘The cat in the Hat,' adapted by Katie Mitchell, will transfer to the Young Vic following its premiere at the Nationals' Cottesloe Theatre. The show, part of the Young Vic's new spring season, will run from January 28 to March 13, 2010.

The newly announced spring 2010 season at the Young Vic will also feature  'I Am Yusuf and This is My Brother' (January 19 - February 6), written and directed by Amir Nizar Zuabi on the theater's mainstage. The play centers a family drama that unfolds in 1948 as the war begins.

In addition, Luc Bondy's direction of David Harrower's new adaptation of Arthur Schnitzler's tragic romance 'Sweet Nothings' will play from February 25 - April 10. The third spring entry on the Young Vic's main stage will be Fiona Shaw's ENO/Young Vic co-production of Hans Werner Henze's opera 'Elegy for Young Lovers' (April 24 - May 8), which focuses on a poet who devours people to nourish his art and ego.
