Sarah Ruhl's Eurydice made great waves in New York. Now this vivid re-imagining of the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, makes its London premiere in a co-production between the Young Vic, ATC andthe Drum Theatre Plymouth. Bijan Sheibani, nominated for a 2010 Olivier Award for Best Director for his acclaimed Our Class (NT), is reunited with the team who created the award-winning The Brothers Size.

Eurydice loves Orpheus. Her dead father's letters of advice for her wedding aren't reaching the land ofthe living. She crashes down a flight of stairs and wakes in the underworld, her memory wiped. How willshe ever get home...? Alice in Wonderland meets Greek mythology in this playful and heart-breaking take on a timeless tale ofgrief and redemption. The cast is Ben Addis, Geff Francis, Becci Gemmell, Marsha Henry, Osi Okerafor, Rhys Rusbatch andOny Uhiara. Ony UhiaraOny UhiaraOny Uhiara Ony Uhiara will play Eurydice. She returns to the Young Vic where she played Oya in In the Red and Brown Water.

Her other credits include Noughts and Crosses, Pericles, The Winter's Tale and Days ofSignificance ( all RSC) and Motortown (Royal Court) . Sarah Ruhl'Sarah Ruhl'Sarah Ruhl'Sarah Ruhl's plays include In the Next Room or The Vibrator Play (Broadway), The Clean House (Pulitzer Prize Finalist 2005, The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize 2004), Passion Play, a cycle (PenAmerican Award, The Fourth Freedom Forum Playwriting Award from The Kennedy Center), DeadMan's Cell Phone (Helen Hayes Award for Best New Play), Melancholy Play, Demeter in the City (9NAACP Image Award nominations), Orlando and Late: A Cowboy Song.

As artistic director of ATC, Bijan Sheibani, Bijan Sheibani's directing credits include The Brothers Size (a co-production with the Young Vic which was nominated for an Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre and toured throughout the UK and internationally, where it was awarded Best International Production by the association of Spanish theatre critics) his Olivier Award-winningproduction Gone Too Far! (Royal Court) and most recently Ghosts or Those Who Return (Arcola). His recent production of Our Class (NT) was nominated for Best Play in the 2009 Evening Standard Awards.
