Vertigo Theatre Productions, Manchester's premier fringe theatre company, are excited to announce their new original play Rage is set open November 3rd 2009 at Taurus Bar on Canal Street before taking the show to venues around the UK.

Rage is an original play written by Craig Hepworth and Adele Stanhope (writers of the recent hit play ‘M' which scored rave reviews) and deals with the controversial subject of American campus shootings.

The play tells the story of a group of college students who two hours before were targeted by a fellow student on campus as he went on a rampage through the halls of the college shooting his fellow classmates. Now on lockdown on the campus and with several students forced in to the same room, the students begin to try and process what just happened and ask who is to blame.

With tempers flaring and emotions running high, the finger of blame points to everything from America's gun culture, mental health, the media, violence in entertainment, but most importantly at bullying and high school and college cliques - and it's not long before the students realize that their own actions can have terrible consequences.

Rage received two workshop productions in 2006 and 2007 and now comes to the stage with a talented young cast including many Vertigo regulars including Emma Willcox, Rick Carter, Justin Lanata, Dale Vicker, Stuart Reeve, Louise Allen and authors Hepworth and Stanhope. Also joining the cast are Danny Stewart and Graham Atkin.

Rage comes from the company who have scored critical and commercial success with the original play ‘M', the UK premiere of Dog Sees God; Confessions Of A Teenage Blockhead, the stage adaptation of The Breakfast Club and the original comedy 3sum.
