Story:

Belinda and Cody appear to be a typical young American couple, except he is black and she is white. When she is attracted to a former classmate who is also white, a world of bigotry and betrayal is revealed that was apparently just below the surface all the time. The author writes a funny script without allowing us to forget that we are watching a drama.

Characters:

THE MAN (white actor around 30): Nice looking, sympathetic, charming. He is both a character and the narrator in the play. A bit of the stand-up comic in him when he talks to the audience. Ex-army, ex-lawyer, ex-husband, now planning to become a writer.

BELINDA: (white actress around 30): Pretty, pleasant, vulnerable. Popular cheerleader in high school, now a wife and mother married to a black guy. Alternates between softness and aggression.

CODY (black actor around 30): Handsome, proud, quick to anger; soft and gentle at times. A star athlete in high school, now a successful business man married to a white woman.
