Celebrating the 100th anniversary of Vivien Leigh's birth in November, actor Susie Lindeman will portray the screen legend in the play Letter to Larry in London and Los Angeles.

"It's a pleasure and a privilege to play Vivien, especially for those who knew her," says Lindeman. "I'm thrilled several of Vivien's family, friends and fans will attend to pay tribute on her 100th. It's touching to have so much belief in my performance." Excerpts from the play can be seen here.

There will be two special centenary performances in London: first at The Jermyn Street Theatre on 3 November and a shorter version at The Actors Church, Covent Garden on 5 November, on Leigh's 100th birthday. Special guests will include Laurence Olivier's son, Tarquin, and actor Greta Scacchi.

Lindeman then goes on to perform Letter to Larry at The Hudson Guild Theatre in Los Angeles, 15-17 Nov.

In 1960, while starring in Duel Of Angels on Broadway, Leigh received a long and moving letter from Laurence Olivier asking for a divorce.

Her response created a worldwide sensation, but another revelation now tips her towards The Edge.

Letter to Larry explores how Leigh - the woman who brought fire to the roles of Scarlett O'Hara, Cleopatra and Blanche Dubois - fought for his love ... and her life. Leigh's famous battle with bipolar disorder provides a roller-coaster backdrop for the secrets and surprises she reveals about her life with Olivier.

Letter to Larry chimes with the renewed interest in Leigh's life and work, spurred by the Victoria and Albert Museum's recent, high-profileacquisition of her diaries, scripts and photographs. London's National Portrait Gallery and the British Film Institute are also honoring Leigh with exhibitions in November. Lindeman's performances are the only live shows that will be staged around the centenary of Leigh's life.

Lindeman's West End credits include: Sons of Cain (Wyndhams); The Admirable Crichton (Haymarket); Prin (Lyric); and The Deep Blue Sea(Apollo). She has appeared on the screen in Merchant Ivory's Howards End, Maigret, Let Them Eat Cake, Razzle Dazzle and the award-winning Thames TV film Catherine.
