The Lyric Hammersmith's Artistic Director David Farr announces a season of shows culminating in a new production of SPRING AWAKENING. The entire creative team behind the Atlantic Theater company's New York production will come to the Lyric to work with a young British cast. 

Spring Awakening continues its record-breaking run at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, 230 West 49th Street. The musical, with music by Duncan Sheik, lyrics and book by Steven Sater, is  choreographed by Bill T. Jones and directed by Michael Mayer. It is the recipient of numerous awards including 8 2007 Tony Awards including Best Musical.

Also this season, acclaimed director of Coram Boy and Watership Down, Melly Still, directs her magical version of the Christmas classic Cinderella, based on the original story by The Brothers Grimm, with live music composed by the extraordinary Norwegian ice-musician Terje Isungset. Hot on the heels of their west-end hit The Hound Of The Baskervilles, the hilarious Peepolykus return to the Lyric with Spyski! (Or The Importance of Being Honest), the completely fabricated story of the poisoning of a Russian dissident in London, directed by Lyric Artistic Director David Farr.  Dynamic movement based company Frantic Assembly present their taut adaptation of Shakespeare's Othello, transposing Shakespeare's gripping tragedy to a pub in a modern housing estate.  In the Studio: Flywheel productions present an all new version of their hit Radioplay, featuring live music from Perrier Jazz award winner Phil Robson, singer Christine Tobin and Double Bassist Dave Whitford.  South Bank Centre Writer in Residence, Lemn Sissay, premieres Why I Don't Hate White People, developed from his Lyric First.  Acclaimed theatre company Fevered Sleep present Brilliant, a new Christmas show for the very young, combining live music and captivating imagery. Lyric Firsts: NIE, UK poetry slam champion Deanna Rodger and lyricist Tashan Cushnie, Lemn Sissay and Mojisola Adebayo present their latest projects and give audiences the opportunity to feed back.  Comedy Nights: Richard Herring returns to host another stellar line-up of stand-up comedians, including a regular slot for his old partner Stewart Lee.
