On sale from Wednesday 26 May, the Autumn 2010 season at Sadler's Wells includes a major new Sadler's Wells Production, three world premieres, seven UK premieres, and four Sadler's Wells Co-Productions. During a year of unprecedented popularity for dance in all its forms, Sadler's Wells' new season perfectly encompasses the theatre's aims and achievements; presenting a diverse range of world class dance to the widest possible audiences and pushing the boundaries of the art form with the creation of new, collaborative work.

Starting the season in early September is the largest scale Sadler's Wells Production to date; the world premiere of Shoes. A dance revue inspired by one of the great passions of the modern age, Shoes is the first large scale production written by Richard Thomas since his legendary hit Jerry Springer - The Opera. Directed by award-winning West End choreographer, Stephen Mear, the show brings together a host of celebrated artists, choreographers Kate Prince, Aletta Collins, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Mark Smith plus designers Laura Hopkins and Tom Pye, to name just a few.

Committed to presenting the best international and UK artists and companies, both world-renowned and lesser known, for the Autumn 2010 season Sadler's Wells hosts companies such as Alvin Ailey, Pina Bausch's Tanztheater Wuppertal, Rosas and American Ballet Theatre alongside UK artists Jonathan Burrows and Rosemary Butcher. October marks a poignant moment in the season, with one of the most influential choreographers and artists of our time, Pina Bausch's company performing her momentous work Iphigenie auf Tauris, for the first time in London.

The season also presents new works by six Sadler's Wells Associate Artists; Russell Maliphant, Akram Khan, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Wayne McGregor, Jasmin Vardimon and Matthew Bourne. In November, Wayne McGregor's new piece for ten performers from his own Sadler's Wells Resident Company, Wayne McGregor | Random Dance, makes its world premiere, while later in the month Jasmin Vardimon presents her company's first highly anticipated work for the main stage at Sadler's Wells.

The Autumn 2010 season draws to a close with a major highlight for Christmas, Matthew Bourne's new production of the best loved fairy tale Cinderella. First seen in the West End in 1997, the work is completely revised for 2010, a significant moment for Matthew Bourne and Sadler's Wells, marking 15 years since the premiere of Bourne's iconic Swan Lake.
Sadler's Wells also continues to reach new audiences taking work beyond the walls of the theatre this season, presenting two further off site projects. David Michalek's Slow Dancing makes its UK premiere in July at the iconic location of Trafalgar Square, while the more intimate but no less intriguing participatory dance project Street Dance is presented by Lone Twin in Islington in September. The theatre also tours two major works internationally, with Sutra, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui's award-winning collaboration with Antony Gormley and monks from the Shaolin Temple, making its debut at the Lincoln Center and Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake embarking on a four week run at New York City Center.
