The Royal Shakespeare Company announced today that Rebecca Preston has been appointed as the Company's new Director of Development.

Rebecca Preston joins the RSC from Southbank Centre where, as Development Director she has established a reputation as one of the arts sector's most innovative fundraisers. She has a strong background in the arts, with previous roles at the Royal Court Theatre and the ICA, and has also worked at the Terrence Higgins Trust. Rebecca will take up her role at the RSC in April.

Catherine Mallyon, RSC Executive Director, said: "Rebecca is a highly experienced fundraiser and leader and we are looking forward to welcoming her to the Royal Shakespeare Company, where I know she will play a really valuable role in securing support for our artistic vision and our ambitions to broaden our reach and engagement with audiences."

Rebecca Preston said: "I am very much looking forward to joining the Royal Shakespeare Company and to working with the development team and the wider organisation to deliver increased sustainable funding for the future."
