MAMMA MIA! recently welcomed its 4 Millionth patron to the Prince of Wales Theatre in the heart of London/>'s West End/> and has extended its booking period through January 27, 2007. The smash hit musical celebrated its 6th London Birthday this year.

Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus' hit musical based on the songs of ABBA which the Daily Telegraph calls "The most successful theatrical production in the World," has grossed over 1.4 Billion dollars at the box office and now has six cast recordings that have already gone gold and platinum all over the world.

"London/>/> was where the original production was first conceived, and where the team who created it initially teamed up, so to have reached the milestone of 4 million ticket sales is really very special. Everyone deserves congratulations." - Global Producer Judy Craymer

From West End/> smash to global phenomenon, MAMMA MIA! has already been seen by a staggering 24 million people in over 115 cities across North America, Australia/>, Europe and Asia/>.  There are currently 11 productions around the world – London/>, Broadway, Las Vegas/>, North American Tour, Hamburg/>, Stuttgart/>, Utrecht/>, Osaka/>, International Tour, Madrid/> and Stockholm/>/>.  The original London/>/> production opened in 1999 and has grossed over £132 million at the UK Box Office at more than 2,500 performances.

MAMMA MIA!, the endearing love story of seemingly universal appeal, set on a fictional Greek island and set to the songs of Swedish supergroup ABBA seems more popular than ever, with many fans returning time and time again to experience its magic. More than 18,000 people see the show every night, helping it generate over $8 Million dollars a week in ticket sales. With booking now stretching beyond the end of next year, its no wonder MAMMA MIA! has taken over L132 Million at the London/>/> box office alone.

The London cast is currently headed by Vivien Parry as 'Donna Sheridan', Lara Mulcahy as 'Rosie', Kim Ismay as 'Tanya', Simon Slater as 'Sam Carmichael', Martin Ball as 'Harry Bright', John Alastair as 'Bill Austin', Sophia Ragavelas as 'Sophie Sheridan', Fergus March as 'Sky', Hayley Doyle as 'Ali', Nikki Davis-Jones as 'Lisa', Ben Heathcote as 'Pepper' and Eugene McCoy as 'Eddie'.  At certain performances the role of 'Donna Sheridan' will now be played by Lucy Harris.

Inspired by the story-telling magic of ABBA's timeless songs, writer Catherine Johnson's enchanting tale of family and friendship unfolds on a Greek island paradise.  On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago…

With music & lyrics by Benny Andersson & Björn Ulvaeus, MAMMA MIA! is written by Catherine Johnson, directed by Phyllida Lloyd and choreographed by Anthony Van Laast. The production is designed by Mark Thompson with lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce & Bobby Aitken and musical supervision, additional material & arrangements by Martin Koch.
