Following a sell-out national tour and rave reviews at Edinburgh Festival Fringe and around the country, the play that explores the relationship between Margaret Rutherford and Agatha Christie is now coming to London¹s West End.

The sell-out play from the 2012 Edinburgh Festival, MURDER, MARPLE AND ME by Philip Meeks comes to London¹s West End during the 60th anniversary year of The Mousetrap by Agatha Christie, the West End¹s longest running show.

Actor Janet Prince brings to life three women - Margaret Rutherford, Agatha Christie and The Spinster - in a compelling physical, vocal and emotional performance directed by the acclaimed Stella Duffy.

Before Miss Marple, Margaret Rutherford was well known and much loved as a comic actress. She was an unlikely choice for the role that she reluctantly took on, the character that has made her eternally and internationally famous. Legendary mystery author Agatha Christie never wanted the Miss Marple novels taken to the screen at all, and was disappointed when Margaret Rutherford was given the job.

But what tragic scandal was revealed that led them to put aside their mutual distaste and develop a touching friendship? The intriguing and sometimes salacious world of the British film industry in the 1960s is the setting for a remarkable dramatic story about two of the nation¹s most influential women in the arts at that time.

MURDER, MARPLE AND ME stars Janet Prince, is directed by Stella Duffy and written by Philip Meeks. Janet Prince¹s extensive theatre credits include a recent stint in The Mousetrap company. Stella Duffy is an acclaimed director, writer and performer and appears regularly in the media as a commentator on many topics. Her latest novel, The Purple Shroud, is out on 6 June. Writer Philip Meeks' theatre and television writing credits include several years as a core writer on Emmerdale and the acclaimed play Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Set designer Cherry Truluck has been shortlisted for a 2012 Offie Award.
