Ross Leadbeater, the award-winning singer-pianist and musical director, has just released his debut EP and to his surprise, it reached the Top 3 in the iTunes Classical Album Charts - the only release in the top 20 without a major label.

Following his critically acclaimed solo UK Tour, Ross is officially launching the album in London at the Pheasantry on 29th June and will be joined by special guests Laura Pitt-Pulford and Leigh Rhianon Coggins.

Ross will be showcasing his EP in a live show celebrating his musical favourites from the Great British Songbook before heading to the Edinburgh Festival for two weeks in August.

The debut EP is a personal collection of British songs including classical-crossover arrangements of Pure Imagination and Smile, a cover of Ed Sheeran's Thinking Out Loud, a new version of Ivor Novello's Keep The Home Fires Burning and an original song Piano For Sale.

Since the release, Ross has gained mainstream attention with support coming from celebrities Craig Revel Horwood, Gaby Roslin, Russell Grant, actor Simon Callow and showbiz legend Nicholas Parsons.

Ross has had his music played by Elaine Paige and Paul O'Grady on their BBC Radio 2 shows, as well as on BBC Wales, BBC West Midlands and BBC London.

Ross shot to fame in 2008 with the Classical Brit Award winning group Only Men Aloud, who released two albums with Decca Records. They achieved worldwide record sales of over 300,000 and performed alongside artists such as Shirley Bassey, Katherine Jenkins and Josh Groban. Ross said, "I couldn't believe it when I woke up to find that the debut EP has reached the top 3 in the iTunes Classical Album Charts. It's so great now to be taking my live show to the Edinburgh Festival. I have always wanted to play Edinburgh so this really is amazing. I'm looking forward to celebrating the great songs with all the fans." Ross will be playing the Assembly venue 'George Street Studios - One' from 5th to 21st August.
