After last night's drama with Nathan's exit, we began tonight's semi-final with a group sing of What's The Buzz?, complete with random choreography. Mel C praised them all as "fantastic", and advised them to "go for it", while Jason Donovan invoked the reality TV cliche of "giving 100 per cent".

Still, at least Dawn French suggested breaking people's legs or removing shirts as a way of securing votes. She also then employed the Bruce Forsyth card of telling each contestant, "You're my favourite," in a pre-performance skit.

Our guest star tonight was Katherine Jenkins, performing 'Habanera' from Carmen, which is neither rock nor musical theatre. She filled in some time before David and Rory were announced as the bottom two - and had to sing 'No Matter What' in an attempt to secure their survival in the competition.

David was the one eliminated (probably fairly), leaving us with a final trio of Rory, Roger and Ben in tomorrow's last show - who will you be voting for?
