Lansbury Productions presents "The Killing of Sister George" by Frank Marcus and directed by Lynn Ramsey from 22nd July - 27th July 2008 at the Greenwich Playhouse.

Actress June Buckridge enjoys a successful career as the beloved Sister George on the popular 1960's radio serial Applehurst. In reality, June is a hard-drinking, cigar-smoking, egotistical and sadistic lesbian who heaps endless insults and humiliations on her partner, Alice. June's life comes crashing down when Mrs Mercy Croft from the BBC announces that, in order to stem Applehurst's falling ratings, Sister George will be killed off. While June eventually accepts her imminent 'death', she has become too immersed in the character to give it up easily. Making matters worse, the only job she is subsequently offered is to play a cow on a children's program. June's inability to adapt to her changing situation results in the loss of all she holds dear.

The cast features Michelle Sansom, Janna Dahl, Michelle Bates, and Charlotte Downes.
