According to the Daily Mail, Piccadilly Theatre's owners are lining up a replacement to follow up VIVA FOREVER!'s closing on June 29. The UK tour of Dirty Dancing will begin performances at the Piccadilly on July 12 and runs through February 2014. Casting has yet to be confirmed. And if, for some reason Dirty Dancing cannot make the transfer, the Piccadilly's owners told the Mail they have another show in the wings.

Since opening in September 2011, the first ever UK tour has taken an unprecedented £40,000,000 at theatres across the country. It has also smashed box office records in Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dublin, Leeds, the Regent's Theatre in Stoke-On-Trent, where it was the most successful show at the venue ever, and Canterbury.

The tour is currently playing in Woking and heads to Manchester in 2013. Then a new tour will launch at the Bristol Hippodrome in March 2014, before setting out to Sheffield, Newcastle, Southampton, Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, Milton Keynes and Oxford, with further dates to be announced in September.

Written by Eleanor Bergstein, script writer and co-producer of the phenomenally successful 1987 film, the production features all the much-loved characters and original dialogue from the iconic film with exciting extra scenes added in. The tantalising dance sequences and brand new choreography come alive on stage, set to all the hits from the unforgettable soundtrack, including 'Do You Love Me?', 'Hungry Eyes' and the Academy Award Winning '(I've Had) The Time Of My Life', plus many additional songs, making the show a truly extraordinary live experience.

Over five million people worldwide have now seen the production, with the London show alone having been seen by over one million audience members. Having opened in London in 2006, Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage played for five years at the Aldwych Theatre in the West End.
