Finborough Theater announces their new Season for April - June 2009

April to June 2009 at the finboroughtheatre
The multi-award-winning Finborough Theatre's second season of 2009 features the world premiere of a new adaptation of a rediscovered classic; the European premiere of a new South African play, starring Janet Suzman; and the world premiere of the first winner of Amnesty International's Protect The Human Playwriting Competition; together with Sunday and Monday productions of three plays, all revived for the first time since their original productions. From this season onwards, we are now offering £5 tickets for under 30's for the first week of our main productions when booked online.
The season begins with Country Magic, an adaptation of Arthur Wing Pinero's The Enchanted Cottage, and a heart-warming testament to the redemptive power of love, directed by award-winning director Phil Wilmott, and running from 14 April to 9 May 2009. Janet Suzman - Academy Award®, BAFTA and Golden Globe award nominee, and winner of two Evening Standard Awards for Best Actress - stars in the European premiere of a new South African play, Dream of the Dog by Craig Higginson, from 12 May to 6 June 2009. The season comes to an end with the world premiere of Sarah Grochala's S-27, the inaugural winner of Amnesty International's Protect The Human Playwriting Competition, from 9 June to 4 July 2009.
Our Sunday and Monday productions this season feature three plays, all revived for the first time since their original productions. The Killing of Mr Toad by David Gooderson revisits a timeless classic and the extraordinary story behind it on 19, 20, 26, 27 April, and 3 and 4 May 2009; David lan's first play Painting a Wall plays on 17, 18, 24, 25, 31 May and 1 June 2009; and Nick Ward's Apart From George, winner of the George Devine Award, plays on 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29 June 2009.
You can also see Finborough Theatre productions elsewhere. Plague Over England by Nicholas de Jongh plays in the West End until 16 May, while Joe DiPietro's F***ing Men has extended its run at the King's Head Theatre for a third time and is now booking until 9 June.
