SUPERSTAR hits the amphitheater!

SUPERSTAR UK reality show winner and JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR UK revival lead Ben Forster will reprise the titular role in the rock opera this July as part of a special presentation in Greece and Forster shares his excitement about the new production in a fresh social media post.

Of note, the production will play the Odeon Of Herodes Atticus in Athens, Greece on July 3 and 4.

Forster utilized social media to comment on the first day of rehearsals kicking off this week writing, "On route to @JCSTheMusical rehearsals. First day. Can't wait to get singing again. #‎JcsAthens #‎jesuschristsuperstar".

Later, Forster shared an update, posting, "Fabulous day rehearsing today.. What a talented cast of singers!! Sounding great already! This is gonna be good!!!!! X ?#‎jcsathens?".

The official description of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR in Athens is as follows: "The Herodeon hosts the longest running musical in West End history, with Jesus Christ as the leading character, but seen from the viewpoint of Judas Iscariot. Jesus Christ Superstar, by musical theatre greats Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, is a rock opera seemingly based on the biblical facts of the life of Jesus. An extravaganza with political references, it has seduced audiences with its unorthodox rendering for 45 years now and has been performed more than 3,500 times the world over. Multi-award winning composer Webber whose popular musicals include Cats, Phantom of the Opera and Evita looks at the characters from a different perspective using London's original cast (and Greek surtitles)."
