BEDUK Comes to 02 Academy Islington London

The charismatic music/producer/performer Bedük has been a star in Turkey for more than ten years and is as popular for his brilliant live shows as he is for his music and his unique style. Now based in London, he's looking forward to making his live UK debut at the 02 Islington in London on March 8th. (photo left by Mehmet Turgut)

"I'm really excited about playing in London for the first time," says the very cool newly-minted Londoner. "The music scene in the UK amazes me - the inspiration is everywhere. London is so connected; here, you feel like a part of a bigger thing; London inspires you to create, think, colour it your own way. At the 02 I'll be performing my own songs from previous albums plus tracks from my forthcoming album 'Flashforward' which is a return to my funkier electronic vibes but futuristic! I'm also going to play my favourite covers including 'This Fire' by Franz Ferdinand, 'Rock 'n' Roll Queen' by the Subways 'Missing' by Everything But The Girl and will be doing a medley with 'Around The World' by Daft Punk and 'California Love' by 2Pac and Dre. It's gonna be a fun night!"

Bedük won the first of his many music awards in 2006 as Best Dance Producer; he then wrote, recorded and produced a string of his own albums which sold in increasing numbers, garnering him MTV Award nominations and five important music awards, most notably for his album 'Go' which shot to the top of the Turkish charts on its release. After seven albums and millions of sales, multi-million hit music videos, hundreds of sellout concerts and countless awards and nominations, Bedük has been writing, arranging and producing for himself and a string of other top artists for more than 20 years.

Bedük is known for his unmatched stage presence and sellout gigs all over Europe. "For the first time in years, I don't know what to expect from this first gig in London," he confesses. "Every show is different; the audience makes a live gig what it is and London audiences have seen so many shows...but not mine yet! It'll be exciting to bring my own dose of entertainment to a world of great shows."

An admirer of many musicians and performers from Mark Ronson to Pharrell Williams, from Bloc Party to Jamiroquai, Bedük's music appeals to a wide audience. Tickets will be going fast!
