The King's Head Theatre announce Atticist as their new Associate Company.
Atticist is an independent
Production Company specialising in theatre. Their first production, Life According to Saki, won the
Carol Tambor Best of Edinburgh Award at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe and transferred to New York in 2017. EAST, which just completed its run at the
King's Head Theatre, was critically acclaimed, received several award nominations and sold out its entire run.
Bridie Bischoff, one of the two producers at Atticist, says: "It has been a pleasure working with the
King's Head Theatre team on EAST and this is an exciting opportunity for us to continue our relationship. It will help us to experiment with new productions and to encourage the development of new writing, as well as welcoming new creative relationships and collaborations. The
King's Head Theatre strives to provide a supportive, open atmosphere in which theatre practitioners can thrive; this is something with which we are proud to be associated, both artistically and in its commitment to fair pay and diversity."
Atticist join Charles Court Opera as the second Associate Company for the
King's Head Theatre.

King's Head Theatre. They work incredibly hard to deliver such a high standard of work, and I can't wait to see what's next."
The
King's Head Theatre was established in 1970. The most ethically and socially responsible fringe theatre in the UK, we are known for our challenging work and support of young artists. Last year 116,151 audience members saw a show of ours: 44,607 at our 110-seater home on Upper Street and 71,544 elsewhere. At our home in Islington we had 774 performances last year of 95 different shows. We are committed to fighting prejudice through the work we stage, the artists and staff we work with and by producing work for minority audience groups. We believe in fair pay for all on the fringe and create accessible routes for early career artists to stage their work; work we are passionate about. Last year we announced the theatre is on the move. Subject to a fundraising campaign, the
King's Head Theatre will move into a custom-built space in the heart of Islington Square, directly behind its current home securing the future of the venue for generations to come.
