A TRIBUTE TO MARIO LANZA Held At Wexford Opera House 11/21

When The Loveliest Night of the Year - A Tribute To Mario Lanza first performed at the NCH in Cork, Dublin's NCH and Limerick's UCH ALL SOLD OUT on 6th, 7th and 8th October. On the night of 8th October another date was announced from the National Concert Hall stage and the following day 800 tickets were already sold for the newly announced 7th December '09 show - only days later that concert also SOLD OUT. And again another date was announced - 10th February 2010 and that too SOLD OUT. And it now looks like Wexford Opera House could sell-out too; such is the popularity of Mario Lanza 50 years after his death.

The Loveliest Night of the Year celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Mario Lanza's death. The Loveliest Night of the Year will relive The Magic of Mario Lanza's Greatest Hits. It is a Special Celebration Concert honouring the Life and Times of Mario Lanza. He was the greatest voice of the 20th Century. He is famous for singing such arias as the love duet from "Otello". His movies include "That Midnight Kiss", "The Toast of New Orleans", and his greatest film success "The Great Caruso" made him world famous. And "Lanza Fever" swept the whole of America with his "Caruso Concert Tour". What a great Celebration Concert Tour this will be with all his greatest hits.

The Loveliest Night of the Year - A Tribute to Mario Lanza is conducted by Vladimir Jablokov, violinists and founder of the Slovak Festival Orchestra. He began playing violin at the age of 5 and is the fourth generation of his family to make music his career. Since 1995 he has performed regularly with his family on concert stages in Slovakia, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Ireland and Italy.

The Loveliest Night of the Year - A Tribute to Mario Lanza performs for one night only in Wexford Opera House on Sunday, November 21 at 8pm. Tickets are €35/€31.50 (Concession).
