About the Theatre

Since 1987, Scena Theatre has been bringing the best international theatre to DC and stimulating cultural exchange between local and global artists. Founded in 1987 by Artistic Director Robert McNamara and Managing Director Amy Schmidt, Scena Theatre produces an annual season of plays, a workshop series to develop new dramas, seasonal readings, and tours to renowned festivals and theatres abroad.
