DECLARATION by Jonathan DorfA special event with Eleanor Roosevelt High School and the Greenbelt Arts Center Eleanor Roosevelt High School students will present the play, Declaration, by Jonathan Dorf, at the Greenbelt Arts Center Saturday, May 18, starting at 7pm. Tickets are $10 at http://www.greenbeltartscenter.org/.Declaration explores the befores, durings, and afters of a group of students whose school is yet another ground zero for a mass shooting. The play will be followed by a talk-back with the cast and audience. The play is a partnership between the Greenbelt Arts Center and the Eleanor Roosevelt High School Drama Dept. The production stemmed from the Passion Project of Niya John and the ERHS Drama 3 class. A semi-staged reading in February, held on the one-year anniversary of the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting, raised almost $1000 for March For Our Lives. Whether you saw the reading in February or couldn't fit it into the schedule, this weekend's performance is something you do not want to miss. The talk-back after the play will be a rare opportunity to speak with today's students about the issue of school shootings and gun control.
Ages: May not suitable for young children
