A Fine Madness is a world premiere work created and performed by Woolly Mammoth Company Member Justin Weaks, directed by Raymond O. Caldwell, touring cultural venues across Washington, DC from May 30 through June 28, 2026. Inspired by the Voyager Golden Record, the piece weaves together poetry, music, storytelling, and scientific inquiry as Weaks leads audiences in co-creating a collective record of shared humanity. At its core is Weaks' personal story as a Black gay man in Washington, DC navigating a recent HIV diagnosis, pushing back against erasure through radical honesty and communal meaning-making. Each performance is shaped in real time by the people in the room, making every iteration a wholly unique experience.
