Classical music, popular song, jazz, blues, and spirituals meld together to tell the poignant tale of love found and lost in this quintessential American masterpiece which follows the story of a crippled beggar and the headstrong woman he loves. Featuring an all-star cast and iconic American songs like "Summertime," "I Got Plenty O'Nuttin'" and "Bess, You Is My Woman Now," Washington National Opera's critically acclaimed production, which has sold out houses and received rave reviews across the country, returns to Washington for twelve performances

Porgy and Bess is led by conductor John Mauceri and award-winning Broadway director Francesca Zambello, and stars Eric Owens and Lester Lynch as Porgy, and Morenike Fadayomi and Indira Mahajan as Bess. This production also features the WNO Orchestra and Chorus, and an acclaimed cast of artists.
