The Firehouse Theatre Project, a non-profit organization focusing on contemporary American theater production, seeks a part-time PR/Marketing Manager.  Duties include: Writing and distribution of press releases, web copy and e-mail newsletters; managing media relations; group sales; working with graphic designer on development of promotional and marketing materials; image cataloguing for web and e-mail blasts.

The PR/Marketing Manager position is an hourly position, approximately 10-20 hrs/week, $14/hour.  Candidates should possess an undergraduate degree and three or more years of PR/Marketing and events coordination/promotion experience, preferably in the non-profit arts sector; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite (or similar programs); Photoshop or similar image management program proficiency; website content management experience, and Constant Contact (or similar email marketing program) experience.  Group sales experience preferred, as is a working knowledge of local media contacts and the Richmond area arts audience in general.  Graphic design experience a plus.

Requirements:

BA in English, journalism or related field with a minimum of three years of professional writing experience for both web and print publications, preferably in or for the arts.

Excellent grammar and communication skills, including effective interviewing and reporting skills, and ability to create and adapt copy for the web.

Highly organized, able to meet and enforce deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Strong editorial and writing skills and the ability to coordinate projects from conception through distribution.

Ability to work proactively and independently.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with staff, production crew and volunteers to research, create, and obtain clear, concise, creative, accurate and reader-friendly copy.

Ability to adapt writing style for the organization and its constituents.

Ability to catalogue, manipulate and enhance photos and graphic imagery.
