The Edge of the Universe Players 2 Present ATHEIST'S PARADISE, Now thru 11/25

By:

The Edge of the Universe Players 2 present Atheist's Paradise tonight, Nov. 3-25, 2012, about philosophy professor, coach "Doc," who changes a crushed freshman and scared freshwoman for life. Atheist’s Paradise is a a new semi-experimental play by Bill Goodman, directed by Megan Behm.

The cast features Nick Torres, Rebecca Phillips, Jan Forbes, Claude Stark, Victor Maldonado and Cassandra Newman.

"Doc" Johnson, bizarre football coach and professor of philosophy, diagnoses scared freshwoman Sheila as "desperately in need of an identity crisis" and decides to give her one. Doc concurrently mentors Bob, a macho freshman who didn’t make the team. Meanwhile, new college President Jim decides that Doc must become a different person—one acceptable to donors. On another plane of existence, a mysterious and possibly
divine Judge tries Doc for corrupting the youth and more.

The show will play Melton Rehearsal Hall, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company 641 D St., N.W., Washington, D.C., Saturdays at 8 p.m., Sundays at 7 p.m., and Fridays, Nov. 16 and 23, at 8 p.m. To purchase tickets, visit universeplayers2.tix.com.

The Edge of the Universe Players 2: Our New Theatre Company intends to produce at least one play per year to deliver an important message in an entertaining way. We prefer far-out styles, bizarre scenarios, and real concerns.
