Tantallon Community Players Present LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS

On August 24, 2017, Tantallon Community Players, a theatre company located minutes from the National Harbor will present Howard Ashman's and Alan Menken's quirky and loved musical, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS at Harmony Hall Regional Center. Production dates are September 22, 23, 29, & 30, 2017 at 8pm, and September 24 & October 1, 2017 at 3pm. Harmony Hall is located at 10701 Livingston Road, Fort Washington MD 20744. Tickets are available online at www.tantallonplayers.org or can be purchased at the door for $20. Groups of 10 or more, along with students and seniors are $15.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS is a horror comedy rock musical, by composer Alan Menken and writer Howard Ashman, about a hapless florist shop worker who raises a plant the feeds on human blood and flesh. The musical is based on the low-budget 1960 comedy film, The Little Shop of Horrors. The music in the style of early 1960's rock and roll, doo-wop, and early Motown includes several well-known tunes including the title song, "Skid Row (Downtown)," "Somewhere That's Green," and "Suddenly, Seymour."

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS is directed and choreographed by Jonathan Jackson, produced by Tima McGuthry-Banks and Richelle Lacewell, production managed by Chad Cox, and back stage managed by Alyssa Rowland. With musical direction by Matthew Jacob Dohm, the show will be conducted under the baton of Paul Rossen. The cast is intimate but powerful, consisting of eight actors and five musicians.

Tantallon Community Players (TCP), a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 1982 to increase community awareness of the theater in Southern Maryland, through performance opportunities and workshops. To this end, it has helped foster hundreds of individuals with a sense of community and a creative experience that for some has become a lifelong interest in theater.
