Pointless Theatre Presents IMOGEN at New Theatrical Home

Pointless Theatre is excited to open their season with its newest production, Imogen, a reimagining of Shakespeare's Cymbeline. This production will be presented as part of the Women's Voices Theatre Festival.

Adapted and directed by local female artist, Charlie Mcgrath, this latest Pointless production asks the question, what happens when Princess Imogen's fairy tale narrative doesn't go according to plan?

Get ready for a mash-up of the Bards' most classic plot twists - mis-identity, an estranged royal family, fantastical forests, and a wicked stepmother. Utilizing shadow puppetry as the feature style, a first for Pointless, the production aims to highlight the poetic nature of the classic text. Infused with stylized choreography, the story is brought to life in a multidisciplinary exploration of power, gender, and courage.

Producing in a new venue, Pointless makes its new home in Ward 4 at the Dance Loft on 14th St. "We are beyond thrilled to be producing in Ward 4 where we operate, and where many of our company resides," says Patti Kalil, Co-Artistic Director of Pointless Theatre. This production kicks off a three show season for Pointless- all being performed at the new venue. "Bringing our work to the Petworth neighborhood feels like a natural step forward for our organization, and we hope this new partnership flourishes well into the future," says David Olson, Managing Director.
