Greater Washington Board of Trade Honors Wolf Trap Foundation

By:

The Greater Washington Board of Trade, the region's premier regional business organization, presented its 2011 Golden Links Organization Award to the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts. The Board of Trade's Golden Links Award, given each year since 1978, recognizes an organization that has served as a link in strengthening the Greater Washington community.

"Wolf Trap has demonstrated exceptional service to the region and represents the best of the outstanding business community here in Greater Washington," said Jim Dinegar, President and CEO of the Greater Washington Board of Trade.

"It is because of the countless special moments created over the years, the commitment to this community through education and performances, and, because of the remarkable leadership of Terre Jones and his staff, that the Greater Washington Board of Trade is proud to present the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts with this recognition."

"I am honored to accept this special distinction from the Greater Washington Board of Trade," said Terrence Jones, President and CEO of the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts. "Wolf Trap's year-round performances and innovative education programs have enriched the lives of millions of people of all ages in this region and beyond. We share this special recognition from the Board of Trade with our partners at the National Park Service, and our patrons, donors, and corporate partners whose support makes this possible."

"Wolf Trap is one of the true treasures of this region," said Gary Tabach, Chairman of the Greater Washington Board of Trade and Wolf Trap Foundation Board of Directors. "Other regions of the world have their grand opera houses, but on a warm summer evening, under the stars, there is no place better to be than on the great lawn at Wolf Trap."

The 2011 Golden Links Award was presented at the 123rd Board of Trade Annual Meeting on December 7, 2011.
