Weston Playhouse Theatre Gains Ground for New Theatre in Southern Vermont

The Weston Playhouse Theatre Company's $10 million capital campaign has reached another milestone with the conditional approval by the Town of Weston Zoning Board of Adjustment and the Planning Commission of the Company's plan to build a new studio theatre on the former Walker dairy farm in Weston Village.

Night Fires, Theatre Group Ltd.'s much-loved winter solstice celebration returns to Town Hall Theater this weekend, beginning December 20. The annual event weaves together texts, music and dance from many cultures to create something new and wondrous every year.

The 2014 Winter Sunshine Series is a collaborative presentation between Crabgrass Puppet Theater and Sandglass Theater. The series' mission is to present world class puppetry for family audiences in and around Southern Vermont. This coming winter marks our seventh season with this fast growing family favorite. We're happy to be welcoming back some of our favorites from previous years, as well as some exciting new performers! All shows take place on Saturday afternoons, with two showings, first at 1pm then at 3pm. Reservations are highly recommended as many of last year's shows quickly sold out! Weston Theatre Company Welcomes New Staff Members

The Weston Playhouse Theatre Company has announced that Arts Consulting Group, Inc. (ACG) has been engaged to provide transition management services and that Lesley Koenig will fill the role of Interim Managing Director for the organization. The theatre company also announces the appointment of Amy Bannon as Capital Campaign Administrator. The new staff members began their duties on November 4.
Putney Craft Tour Celebrates 35th Anniversary; Launches on 11/29

Windham County in Southern Vermont is a place rich with artistic vision, talent and craftsmanship. It boasts five popular craft and artisan open studio tours spaced at different times of the year. The granddaddy is the Putney Craft Tour, which will have its 35th anniversary Thanksgiving weekend. It's the oldest continuous crafts tour in the U.S. and has served as a prototype for tours all over the country. The tour is also a participant in American Craft week, a nationwide celebration of American Craft.
