Northern Stage announces the successful launch of Boot Camp, a program designed to nurture young theater artists by providing in-depth training and mentorship for high school juniors, seniors, and recent graduates who want to pursue a career in the arts. With support from the Pussycat Foundation and created to honor the philanthropic and creative spirits of Helen Gurley Brown and David Brown, Boot Camp serves young artists who lack the resources to pursue professional-level arts training. Admission to colleges, BFA theater programs, and performing arts conservatories are highly competitive, and Boot Camp seeks to level the playing field by preparing students to compete at the highest level for continued arts and performance studies.

Quin Arts Exhibition 'And Suddenly The Picture Was Distorted' Launches July 12

The Quin hotel, located at 57th Street and Sixth Avenue, will debut the group exhibition '... and Suddenly the Picture was Distorted,' on July 12. Angelo Madrigale, VP/Director, Contemporary Art, Doyle, joins Quin Arts curator DK Johnston to deliver this exciting exhibition featuring works culled from notable private collections, as well as newer pieces obtained directly from the artists. The exhibition includes the work of Swoon, ROA, WK Interact, Nick Walker, John Fekner, Michael de Feo, and Blek le Rat. A special installation on the Quin's 15-foot video wall will feature the photography of Soren Solkaer.

When a wealthy neighbor comes down from the hill overlooking their hangout, the sleep-deprived comedy of new parenthood shows a different side of itself. CRY IT OUT is an honestly absurd look at the dilemma of returning to work after childbirth and how class impacts parenthood and friendship.

Gellert, currently Associate Producer and Director of the Studio at New York's acclaimed Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA), comes to Weston with fifteen years of experience in New York and regional theatre and a long-standing relationship with Vermont, which has been her second home for the past seven years. Ms. Gellert's appointment is the result of a 9-month national search led by Management Consultants for the Arts (www.mcaonline.us).
