She was raised in Vermont, but for the last ten years she's been in Nashville, honing her craft, writing, performing, and singing backup for major artists.

Now Toni Catlin has come back to Vermont, and she'll be performing at Middlebury's Town Hall Theater on Thursday, October 20.

Catlin has built a considerable reputation in country music. She gets equal raves for her voice and for her songwriting. Her voice is the real country thing, a big dose of raw emotion and soul, suggesting she's lived more than a few of her lyrics. Seven Days calls her as "an uncommonly gifted vocalist."

Her songs are sensitive and literate, weaving tales of heartache and acceptance and redemption. They reflect her strong and independent nature, but also convey a sense of vulnerability and authenticity. Maverick Magazine simply calls them "stunning".

Catlin's debut album in 2001, Heartbreak on the Run" received rave reviews here and in the UK. Her current release, Uncovered, features songs co-written by some of Nashville's best songwriters.
Catlin will perform in the Town Hall Theater Cabaret, an intimate space on THT's lower level. A cash bar and snacks are available. The performance is Thursday, October 20, at 7 pm. Tickets are only $10, and may be purchased at www.townhalltheater.org, 802-382-9222, at the THT Box Office, or at the door.
