THT to Air The Rolling Stones 'Some Girls' Concert, 9/8

By: Aug. 21, 2012

It's a hot night in Ft. WorthTexas, 1978. The Rolling Stones, at the height of their career, deliver a blistering concert – and it's captured on film.  But the film sits on a shelf for many years, unseen and unheard.  Now it's been rediscovered and completely re-mastered for image and sound.

The result is a rare and rockin' time capsule – The Rolling Stones "Some Girls" Concert – which will be shown at Middlebury's Town Hall Theater on Saturday, September 8.

Originally shot on 16 mm, the film has been upgraded to high definition with a 5.1 audio track.  It captures the world's best rock & roll band playing many of their classic hits, including "Honky Tonk Woman," "Tumbling Dice," "Brown Sugar," "Jumpin Jack Flash," "Miss You," and "Beast of Burden."  The film is a must-see for Stones fans, and for anyone interested in the glory days of rock & roll.

As a bonus, the concert is preceded by an interview with Mick Jagger, filmed in 2011, who talks about the concert's significance to the development of the band.

The screening is Saturday, September 8 at 8:00 pm.  Tickets are only $12, with a special $8 ticket for students, and may be purchased at www.townhalltheater.org, 802 382-9222, at the THT Box Office (Noon- 5 pm, Mon-Sat) or at the door.
