At one of India's top colleges, the headmaster believes that love brings only pain, and therefore romance is strictly forbidden within the walls of the school. Enter a new music teacher who not only believes in love but urges his students to follow their hearts.

That's the plot of Mohabbatein, one of the most successful Bollywood films of all time. And because it's a Bollywood film, the result is a triple love story, full of drama, passion, stunning costumes and colossal dance numbers.

Mohabbatein will be shown at Middlebury's Town Hall Theater on Friday, October 21, at 7 pm.
This is the second Bollywood film to be shown at THT. Last year's showing of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham played to a sold-out house. "I think there's a lot of curiosity about these musicals coming out of India," says THT executive director Douglas Anderson. "They mix together so many different genres, everything from soap operas to MTV videos, and you end up with something that is wildly entertaining."

The evening will begin with a live performance from the Hadippa Dancers, Middlebury's own Bollywood dance troupe, under the direction of Jennifer Bruch.

Tickets are $6, and may be purchased at www.townhalltheater.org, 802-382-9222, at the THT Box Office, or at the door. Mohabbatein will be shown on Friday, October 21, at 7 pm.
