This September, the Saint Albans Society for the Performing Arts (SASPA) presents Camelot: The Musical. The musical, which was written by Alan Jay Lerner (book and lyrics) and Frederick Loewe (music) and is based on T. H. White's King Arthur legend from the novel The Once and Future King.

The musical originally ran on Broadway in 1960, under the direction of Moss Hart. The show won four Tony Awards in 1961 including Best Actor in a Musical (Richard Burton), Best Scenic Design (Musical), Best Costume Design and Best Conductor and Musical Director. The show was also nominated for Best Actress in a Musical (Julie Andrews). Camelot had 873 performances on Broadway and ran until 1963. 

Camelot: The Musical will be hosted at the Saint Albans City Hall. The show will open on September 17 and run through September 19. Tickets are available at the Chamber of Commerce, which can be reached by calling 802-524-2444. There will be a Gala Opening Night Benefit on September 17 at 6:30pm.
