The 2014 Winter Sunshine Series is a collaborative presentation between Crabgrass Puppet Theater and Sandglass Theater. The series' mission is to present world class puppetry for family audiences in and around Southern Vermont. This coming winter marks our seventh season with this fast growing family favorite. We're happy to be welcoming back some of our favorites from previous years, as well as some exciting new performers! All shows take place on Saturday afternoons, with two showings, first at 1pm then at 3pm. Reservations are highly recommended as many of last year's shows quickly sold out! Make reservations by email or by calling the theater 802-387-4051.

Frogtown Mountain Puppets
The Legend of the Banana Kid
January 25

Evil-doers beware: there's a new kid in town, and he's loaded with attitude and fruit. The new hero of the Wild West is none other than the Banana Kid, and you don't want to mess with him unless you enjoy getting beaned by one of his boomerang bananas. Frogtown Mountain Puppets, a three-sibling company, combine old-fashioned melodrama with Wild West themes for what is simply one of the most hilarious shows we've ever seen!

Tanglewood Marionettes
An Arabian Adventure
March 8

A swashbuckling tale set in exotic lands and featuring a delightful story book backdrop. An Arabian Adventure tells the tale of a Persian prince who is thrown into a dungeon because of his love for a beautiful princess. Facing danger at every turn, the courageous prince must use his wits to escape his prison, defeat the diabolical Vizier, and save the princess from a tragic fate.

Crabgrass Puppet Theater
The Pirate, The Princess and the Pea

A thrilling voyage chock full of sea monsters, shipwrecks, and mistaken identities. A pirate and a princess are on a treasure hunt, searching for the same clues. The princess stays one step ahead by tricking the pirate at every turn. But when the princess is in danger from a giant octopus, she quickly discovers the benefits of having a loyal crew! Crabgrass Puppet Theatre's newest creation features colorful scenery, multiple styles of puppetry, and original pirate songs! Arrgh!

Sandglass Theater
